Networking Opportunities

Despite Florida being home to hundreds of thousands of citizens with incarcerated loved ones, families and friends outside the gates still feel alone, despondent, confused and frustrated. Connecting with others online is an excellent way to share information and comfort. Ex-offenders too can express themselves, relate their experiences, and help make life easier for those who come after.

If you are aware of helpful networking sites or interesting blogs concerning prison and prisoners, transition and reentry, please send us an email.

PrisonTalk

Florida Forum

PrisonTalk.com bills itself as "The Global Communications, Support & Information Nexus for Inmates' Families & Friends."  Indeed, it's a huge and popular site.  News, blogs, and valuable resources concern incarceration anywhere.  The forums are particularly popular.  No questions are too basic, and no problem unique.

Prison Blogs

Jon's Jail Journal, The Prison Blog of an Orwellian Unperson
"Jon is Shaun Attwood, a British stockbroker and rave organiser formerly imprisoned in Arizona, blogging the prison stories of his friends inside, documenting his return to society, and campaigning against Sheriff Joe Arpaio."

Teen in Jail
"I'm in prison at Brevard C.I. in Cocoa, FL after being in the Pinellas County Jail in Clearwater, FL for over a year. I'm relaying stories to a blogger about my crimes, arrests, court hearings and life in prison, jail, juvenile detention, and drug rehab. I'm sending a message to others not to make the same mistakes I did."   Ted Braden has since served his time and been released, but his website and his drive to help remain.  Lots of useful links, too.
